Wedding or elope??? Ideas?

My partner and I have been together for two years and have been talking about getting married. He would like to have a big wedding, but I would love to elope. I dont have much family besides my parents abd two brothers but my partner has a huge family. I have always been a private person and don't like crowds. Also eloping would save us so much money as we will be paying for everything ourselves. Do you think I'm being selfish ?
