Did this guy act crazy like I did? Was there a need for him to attack me?

Ok, so I went out with this guy, we had dinner, we talked and I was instantly attracted to him. Before that-we've messaged on myspace for 3 months. And it was a guy that I went to high school with. Second time we got together, I slept with him. He was really sweet afterwards-we cuddled, told me how much he'll miss me and that I could visit him. I really thought after he came back, there was going to be a relationship. We kept in touch on facebook-we wrote sweet messages, after awhile he didn't respond. He deleted me from facebook and told me I was being "possessive and obsessive." WTF? I was hurt. Three weeks later, I found out he got ENGAGED! I was sooo pissed. He could of at least told me he was with someone overseas! Out of anger, I went on facebook-made a fake account pretending to be his wife and said some really mean things. He retaliated by making a fake profile of me and said some awful things about me. I'm sure he got pissed of what I did, but seriously to go down the road that I did? Wouldn't of that made him a bigger person by not attacking me? In the end-both of the accounts got deleted-I told people that some jerk that I went out with did that.. Seriously?
